YMCA School of Dance

Over the this two years I have helped produce five large dance performances at several venues in Frederick MD.  The Annual Dance Recital, held at the historic Weinberg Center for the Arts, attracts more then 1,000 audience members each year.  It take months of preparation to coordinate 160+ dancers from ages 2-18 to hold a successful show.  Attention to details, extreme organization, and a broad knowledge of our students and families is a must.  I have also organized one holiday performance, two mid-year showcases, and a dozen community performances.  I have also put my art talent to use by creating props and sets for the shows.

Gallery Openings

Every two months from 2013 -2017, I organized and hosted a gallery opening event.  Most of the time 200-400 patrons of the arts came to view the newest art on display in The Center's galleries.  I also developed a third gallery space in 2015.  Each new exhibit was administered by me, working with jurors, curators, the gallery committee, artists, and other community members.    I also designed advertising flyers, postcards, and social media posts for the exhibits.

Halloween Kidsfest

Halloween Kidsfest is a long running event for The Center.  I planned, designed, and implemented the event from 2012-2016.  Each year more then 1,000 children and family members attended this afternoon event.  Children enjoyed Halloween fun as well as created a themed art project that either taught a specific skill or about other cultures.

20th Anniversary Celebration of The Floyd Center for the Arts

This gala style event was a culmination of a month long look at the grassroots of The Center, what the organization had accomplished in 20 years, and where it was heading in the future.   The celebration was themed in the roaring American 20's complete with decorations and attendees in costume.  I also created

Floyd Artisan Trail

The community is invited to visit, shop, and learn from artisans that participate in this three day event each year.  Many local businesses also participated, which made the event much larger and promoted tourism in the area.  I would work to coordinate all the artists and work on the graphic layout to produce a large printed brochure with map.
